Martin Wiesner (CZ)
Brno-based composer and guitarist Martin Wiesner (*1985) is a graduate of the Brno conservatory in the guitar playing field of the Vladislav Bláha class. At the Conservatory he also studied composition in the class of Pavel Novák-Zemek. Since 2011 he has studied composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Slavomír Hořínka. His bachelor’s composition Inter-ferire for string quartet and orchestra premiered in 2015 the Sedláček Quartet with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra. In the composition field he won a number of awards (1st prize in the national competition of ZUŠ in 2005, 1st prize in the national composer competition Generace in 2008, and 3rd prizes in the international composer competition Generace: in 2012 for his composition Slapení for solo bassclarinet, in 2013 for his String Quartet No. 2 and in 2014 for his Woodwind octet.) For several years he was a member of Brno Guitar Quartet BrnKK or working as an extern guitar player at the National Theater in Prague. As an arranger he cooperated on many projects with Brno City Theater.
