Miloslav Klaus (CZ)

Born in Prague in 1960, Miloslav Klaus studied guitar at the State Conservatory, Prague, from 1976 to 1982 with Professor Jiří Jirmal. He continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, focusing on classical guitar. In the 1980s, he received several awards at international competitions, the most important being the third place and the laureate title from the Concours International de Guitare in Paris. Miloslav Klaus has performed in over twenty European countries and in cultural venues around the world, including Paris, London, Manchester, Berlin, Zurich, Parma, Stockholm, Sophia, Bucharest, Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn, Jakarta, Mexico City, to name but a few. He has recorded over 10 albums, among them Classic Jazz Guitar Collection I and II, His Master’s Guitar (with the Czech guitar legend, Jiří Jirmal), Italian Sonatas for the Violin and Guitar (with violinist Jaroslav Svěcený) and others. In 2005 he was appointed the Director of the Music-Art School of Charlotte Masaryk in Prague and has been holding the position ever since.
